Last summer, Yamaha added small doors and additional passenger-side handholds to their popular Rhino side-by-side ATV. However, thousands of vehicles still have not had the after-market safety features added, and Rhinos are still rolling over at an alarming rate. The Yamaha Rhino lawyers at Saiontz & Kirk, P.A. continue to receive inquiries from individuals who suffered severe and life-threatening injuries when their arms and legs were crushed under the weight of the vehicle in a rollover.

>>INFORMATION: Yamaha Rhino Lawsuits

The Yamaha Rhino was introduced in 2003 as a mix between a utility vehicle and a recreational ATV. It was designed with a high center of gravity on a narrow wheel base, and it contains a powerful engine. These factors combine to make the vehicle especially prone to rollover, even if operated under normal conditions at reasonable speeds.

Shortly after Yamaha began selling the side-by-sides, reports started to come in of the vehicles tipping over. In September 2006, Yamaha acknowledged the problems in a letter to owners about what riders should do if the vehicle starts to tip over. In August 2007, they started offering the free modifications to add doors and other safety features which were supposed to help riders keep their arms and legs in the vehicle during a roll over. However, Yamaha has never issued a recall to address these problems and they continue to sell thousands of the inherently unstable vehicles each month.

Many individuals who have been injured in a Rhino accident remain unaware that the defective design and inadequate safety features may have caused or contributed to their injuries. For many of the individuals who have contacted the Yamaha Rhino lawyers at Saiontz & Kirk, P.A., they first became aware of the issues from attorney television advertisements and legal websites.

Lawsuits are currently pending in courts throughout the United States as a result of the Yamaha Rhino rollover problems, and our attorneys are continuing to investigate potential new cases for those who have suffered fractures or other serious injuries.
